Hackathon dates: October 6th - 8th, 2023. 

Event Check-in: October 6th, 5pm-8pm

Opening Ceremony: October 6th, 8pm

Submission Deadline: Sunday October 8th - Github due at 11pm, DevPost due at 12pm

Eligibility

In order to participate in Knight Hacks, you must be a confirmed participant of the event. You can view your status by signing into 2023 Hackathon Website. You will not be allowed inside the venue unless you have a confirmed status. Additionally, only hackers that are above the age of 18 are permitted to attend the event, and all hackers must be currently attending a university or have graduated from one in the last year.

Project and Submission Requirements

Every project that is being created for Knight Hacks VI is required to have a published DevPost submission. This submission is what judges look back on when making decisions on winners, so make sure to put effort into this submission including graphics, explanations, and more. It is recommended to answer all of the questions/prompts on your project page. You are not required to submit a video along with your project, since you will be presenting in-person to the judges.

You must select any prize catergories that you want your submission to be eligible for, including sponsor challenges, MLH catergories, and more.

You also MUST submit a Github repository along with your submission, you will be automatically disqualified if you do not include a Github repository. Additionally, you CANNOT start writing any code before 11pm on Friday. If any work was conducted before 11pm, including just creating a Github repository, you will be automatically disqualified with no exceptions.

It is recommended that you include any links that are relevant to your submission and highlight the work you did including live demos, designs, and more.

Your DevPost submission must be made NO LATER than 12:00pm on Sunday October 8th, 2023. It is recommended that you publish your project before then, we are not responsible for any issues that arise with DevPost if you wait to publish your project. You may not make any changes to your Github after 11:00am. We WILL NOT accept any submissions that are made after the submission deadline. You CAN publish your project at any time during the weekend and still edit it until the submission deadline, and it is recommended that you do so.

Prizes

By participating in Knight Hacks, you agree to the following conditions regaurding prizes. If you are an international attendee, you are still welcome to compete in our event but are ineligable to win any prize catergories. You additionally agree that prizes are awarded at the sole discresion of Knight Hacks organizers and our sponsors that are creating prize catergories. 

Judging Criteria and Winner Selection

Judging at Knight Hacks is being conducted by a combination of UCF Professors, Industry Professional, and event organizers. Teams will present their projects in front of a team of judges, who will evaluate the project on a rubric and then all of the judge teams will come together to choose winners after in-depth discussion. Any participants in Knight Hacks 2023 must agree to any judging decisions, as winners are chosen at the full discresion of Knight Hacks organizers and judges.
